Saturn in Aries: A Preview

From a Jewish Astrological perspective, Saturn / Shabbtai is the most "important" planet, in that Saturn is known as the planetary ruler of the Jewish People themselves.

Saturn has been in Pisces since 2023, in fact it was at only 1 degree of Pisces the day Hamas terrorists attacked Israel on October 7, 2023.

This coming week is the final week of Saturn in Pisces. Saturn will be entering Aries on the 27th of Iyar, Malchut Sh'b'Yesod on the Sefirot HaOmer calendar for 5785.

Who can argue that this go-around of Saturn in Pisces has been nothing but chaos? When the planet of structure (Saturn) meets the sign which specializes in boundary-dissolving (Pisces), the energy fluctuates between massive efforts to create order which only wash away each time a new wave of disillusion, and massive efforts to dissolve old paradigms of power and replace them with new ones which elevate and center the vulnerable and the victims.

As Saturn hovers at the 29th degree of Pisces all this coming week, which (like the 29th degree of all signs) is the ultimate degree, "Pisces sh'b'Pisces" so to speak, it's time to look at how the Saturn transit of the last two and a half years is reflected in your personal natal chart.

Whichever of the 12 Houses is ruled by Pisces is where this battle of Chaos vs. Control has been waged. Who is winning? It almost doesn't matter now because Saturn in Aries is going to change everything.

From a symbolic perspective using Jewish archetypes, think of Pisces as fleet-footed Naftali, who was compelled to run from the Cave of Machpela in Hevron all the way back to Egypt just to fetch the title deed to prove to his uncle Esav that Yakov owned the burial rights to Machpela.

Saturn's current transit through Pisces has been characterized by much the same energy - putting out a tremendous effort to bring proofs that the Jewish people have a legal and moral right to live in the Land of Israel, and that claim being disputed by Esav.

Now think about Aries, which is the Tribe of Yehuda. Our tradition portrays Yehuda as the "master of teshuva" Yehuda's teshuva is about the humility and nobility of taking personal responsibility for one's own mistakes and wrong-doings. Saturn / Shabbtai's transit through Aries may be symbolic of a new wave of the same kind of teshuva.

Saturn will be in Aries from May 25 through September 1, (he goes Retrograde back into the final degrees of Pisces, where we are now), and will return to Aries in February 2026, and stay there until April 2028.

September 2, 2025 through February 13, 2026 will be the "do-over" period of the final gasp of Retrograde-and-then-direct Saturn in Pisces. But take my advice and don't count on a do-over; do it right the first time. And by "right" I mean use this upcoming "preview period" of Saturn in Aries to examine the areas in your life where you need to stop playing the victim and start taking personal responsibility.
