CHODESH ADAR ALEPH: TIME FOR A DOUBLE DOSE OF JOY
The terror and heartbreak of October 7 have flooded the entire quarter year since with our tears. The good news is that 5784 is a “pregnant” (aka “leap”) year, wherein we have two Chodesh Adars, equaling 60 days of the double month during which it is said that “joy begins to increase”!
The Lubavitcher Rebbe taught the 60 days of Adar during the Jewish “Leap” Years possesses the powerful ratio of 60:1, called bitul bishishim, “nullity with 60”. The 60 days of Double Adar have the spiritual power to transform negativity into positivity. We need this superpower now, more than ever!
Transformational Pluto has already entered Aquarius; now Mars/Ma’adim and Venus/Noga join him on February 13 and Shabbos Terumah respectively. Venus and Mars meet up February 21. Our relationships are now evaluated by Aquarian ideals – humanitarianism, collective responsibility, and the moral imperative to provide for others. Those with clashing values find relationships dissolving during this time. There’s a special kind of joy in culling what doesn’t align.
Venus squares Jupiter/Tzedek on Shabbos Tetzaveh, which is Shushan Purim Katan and the Full Moon in Virgo. The fog lifts and brings reality into focus. We may not like what we see, but the joy of knowing the truth overrides uncertainty.
Mars squares Jupiter while the Sun and Mercury/Kochav conjunct Saturn/Shabbtai February 27-28. Protecting one’s joy is serious business. Be seriously protective of body and soul on Shabbat Shekalim, Shabbos Vayakel. Unstable and unpredictable Uranus/Oron is squared by Mars and sextiled by the Sun, while Mercury enters Aries – a potentially explosive combination.
The forces of negativity have tried to steal our joy. A double dose of Adar, the superpower of bitul bishishim’s transformational ratio of 60:1, restores, replenishes, and heals. May the area of your life where joy is most needed be flooded!
