The Season of Our Joy!Chag HaSukkot Sameach, & A Preview of The Last Half of Chodesh Tishrei 5784

Sukkot- prayer in the Sukkah by Sandrine Kespi

When you're looking at the Full Moon in Aries (opposite the already set Sun in Libra) through the roof of your Sukkah, remember you're seeing the opposite of Pesach, which is the Sun in Aries and full Moon in Libra.

Aries/Libra, Libra/Aries. Mars/Venus, Venus/Mars. These are the two Full Moon Festivals upon which the entirety of the Jewish Year hangs, as our Sage, Ibn Ezra says: the Aries/Libra axis is like the two wreathen chains holding the Choshen Mishpat (the High Priest's breastplate) on the ephod.

Innumerable ancestors whose names we don't even know have gone before us, and G*d willing, innumerable descendants will come after us. We're just a link in the chain holding time/space together.

CHAG SAMEACH my friends, may you rejoice in the time of our happiness, beneath the Clouds of Glory.

The Last Half of Chodesh Tishrei 5784: The Wind-Up, Then The Pitch.

Baseball announcers love to say: “The wind-up, then the pitch.” The first half of Chodesh Tishrei was wind-up. Here comes the pitch during the last half of Chodesh Tishrei 5784.

Friday October 29, 14 Tishrei, Erev Sukkot: Sun in Libra opposite Full Moon in Aries, Mercury at 21 Virgo, the degree it went retrograde on August 24. Yes, the after-effects of Mercury Retrograde are finally over, Baruch HaShem! Venus in Leo squares Retrograde Uranus in Taurus. Prepare for sudden changes and maybe even surprise guests.

Ushpizin of Chesed: Sukkot Day 1 (Shabbos, September 30): Mercury in Virgo trines retrograde Uranus in Taurus. A great day to say what you mean, and mean what you say, in a very measured and precise way. Mars in Libra is inconjunct Uranus in Taurus, with Moon in Taurus. The urge to be "nice" may overwhelm the urge to tell the truth. Maybe there's a way to do both?

Ushpizin of Gevurah: Sukkot Day 2 (Sunday, October 1): Moon and Jupiter in Taurus, together all night. Beautiful and harmonious, and with Taurus' planetary ruler Venus in Leo, plenty romantic as well.

Ushpizin of Tiferet: Sukkot Day 3: Monday, October 2: Mercury in Virgo opposite Neptune in Pisces. Virgo analyzes and Pisces synthesizes. Mercury reports and Neptune distorts. Don't believe everything you hear on the news. Do you trust your sources?

Ushpizin of Netzach: Sukkot Day 4: Tuesday, October 3: Mercury in Virgo trines Pluto in Capricorn. Powerful communication and profound connectivity are on the menu. Venus in Leo inconjunct Neptune in Pisces: conflicting desires may leave you unsatisfied unless you're able to be clear about what you really want. It's hard to tell yourself the truth sometimes.

Ushpizin of Hod: Sukkot Day 5: Wednesday, October 4: Mercury enters Libra. Everything has to be fair, beautiful, and balanced, or else!

Ushpizin of Yesod: Sukkot Day 6: Thursday, October 5: Mercury in Libra inconjunct Saturn in Pisces, Mars in Libra inconjunct Neptune in Pisces. An inconjunct is when two planets are in different modalities and elements, and literally don't understand each other. In this case, what we need is an interpreter.

Ushpizin of Malchut: Sukkot Day 7: Hoshana Rabba, Friday, October 6: Venus in Leo inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn. Last Quarter Moon in Cancer. Is there anything truly beautiful about displays of power? Military historians call this "glory" in battle, but it's a far cry from the Glory of the Lord. The Sukkah is a physical enactment of the Clouds of Glory which settled over the Tabernacle in the Desert. Our "glory" is not like the world's idea of glory.

Shabbat, Shemini Atzeret, Saturday, October 7: Sun in Libra inconjunct Jupiter in Taurus. A pleasure overdose! Venus at the ultimate degree!

Simchat Torah: Sunday, October 8: Mars in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn. Dance with the Torah with all of your might! Venus enters Virgo, make a joyful noise!

Monday, October 9, 24 Tishrei: Venus in Virgo opposite Saturn in Pisces.Time to get serious about relationships! Venus visible as the Morning Star near Regulus in the morning. Peak of the Draconids meteor shower in the evening.

Tuesday, October 10, 25 Tishrei: Pluto in Capricorn stations Direct at 27 Degrees, the natal position of the USA’s Pluto! This is the final aspect to America's first-ever Pluto Return, which has seen Pluto's transformative (destruction and re-creation) of America's 2nd House (values, valuables, money, worth). Pluto dances around the cusp of Capricorn/Aquarius until the end of 2024, after which he'll be in Aquarius for 20 years. You'll be hearing MUCH more about that later! For now just understand that the America we've known is currently being burnt to a crisp like the Phoenix, hopefully to rise from the ashes of it's own self-immolation. The Sun in Libra is opposite Chiron in Aries today as well. Have compassion and empathy for the weaknesses and vulnerabilities of others, as well as your own.

Wednesday, October 11, 26 Tishrei: Mars enters Scorpio. Scorpio's classical Planetary Ruler is Mars (Pluto is his Modern Planetary Ruler), so Mars is going to feel right at home. Energetically, things begin to feel smoother, and less conflicted.

Thursday, October 12, 27 Tishrei: Mercury in Libra inconjunct Jupiter in Taurus. Did you try to say the right thing and ended up saying the wrong thing in the biggest way? Try not to do that!

Friday, October 13, 28 Tishrei: Mars in Scorpio trine Saturn in Pisces. A delightful dive into the depths of emotion. The kind of day obsessive passion looks good on you.

Saturday, 14 October, 29 Tishrei, Shabbos Beresheit: The New Moon at 21 Libra, and the Annular Solar Eclipse, with Mercury in Libra opposite Chiron in Aries. Learn more about where the best places in America will be to view this Eclipse HERE.

30 Tishrei, Sunday, October 15: Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan Day 1, Sun in Libra inconjunct Uranus in Taurus. With all these Venus-ruled (Libra and Taurus) inconjuncts over the last few weeks, it's possible one may have inadvertently fallen off the deep end of the pursuit of "that obscure object of desire". Or have given up food sobriety for food insanity. Whatever the case, Chodesh Cheshvan comes to set things straight!

1 Cheshvan, Monday, October 16: Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan Day 2. Look for your Astrolojew Horoscopes for Chodesh Cheshvan HERE
