Lots of drama this week as Jupiter / Tzedek moves from mystical Pisces into combative Aries, with Mercury / Kochav stationing Retrograde, both on Tuesday 5/10. How do these two transits work together or against each other?
Jupiter’s transit through Pisces with Neptune / Rahav in Pisces as well has produced some shockingly passive responses to actual war (that being what’s going on in #Ukraine) and a good deal of obfuscation of facts, as expected, as Jupiter expands everything he touches and Neptune distorts perception. The two planets - Jupiter the classical ruler and Neptune the modern ruler of Pisces - prefer to focus on enhancing empathy, creativity, and imagination. This has worked well for certain individuals (especially the Mutables; Gemini/Sagittarius and Virgo/Pisces) but not so much for nations.
All that changes during Jupiter in Aries, through October 28 when he’ll retrograde back to Pisces for one more go-round with Neptune until December 20, before returning to Aries through mid-May 2023. Jupiter supersizes all the Aries traits such as aggression and combativeness, as well as courage, headstrong (think of the ram’s horns) behavior, and shall we say among the least developed Aries folks, an explosive temper. People with planets in Aries will be ultra-energized; wherever Aries falls in anyone’s individual natal chart will take on an outsized (Jupiter) importance during this transit.
Mercury’s Retrograde begins in early Gemini and goes back into late Taurus, not returning to Gemini until mid-June. For most people this RX period will be all about reviewing and refining one’s relationship to personal values and being able to articulate, define, and stand by them. Jupiter in Aries adds the component of courage to this mix, as it takes some degree of bravery to stand up to the prevailing cultural winds and stand firmly on your own personal value system. There will be much discussion and debate but in the end the “winner” is the one who can expand (Jupiter) their knowledge (Mercury) while integrating new information (Gemini) into existing belief structures (Taurus), allowing the shape of those structures to be changed (upgraded) by the absorption of new perspectives based on understanding facts.
IS IT TIME TO KEEP AN OPEN MIND? Hell yes. Is it time to watch your temper? Again, hell and yes.
